OBJECT CARPET is once again setting new standards in combining design and sustainability: At Orgatec 2024, the company introduced the PLACES OF ORIGIN collection, another popular carpet collection that is gradually being converted to the innovative DUO technology. Following FORUM FOR GREAT IDEAS, this is the second collection that is now fully recyclable, further advancing OBJECT CARPET’s vision of a completely circular product portfolio by the end of 2026. All DUO tiles come with the new recyclable WELLTEX Circular® acoustic backing, which combines outstanding acoustic performance, high comfort, recyclability and easy installation.

At ArtVerona 2024, OBJECT CARPET once again provided tangible proof of its commitment to sustainability and forward-thinking design. One of the highlights on show at this art fair, which ran from October 11 to 13, was the “The Rainbow Brick Road”—an impressive piece by internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, which was created and implemented with the help of OBJECT CARPET and Aquafil.

The premium manufacturers WALTER KNOLL, OBJECT CARPET, SATTLER and ZIMMER + ROHDE are showcasing their combined expertise from October 22 to 25, 2024 at ORGATEC in Cologne. Together, they are staging extraordinary modern working and living environments in a visually weightless trade fair setting created by the Ippolito Fleitz Group. From the floor and furnishings to the ceiling, the four family businesses will introduce trendsetting designs, environmentally friendly materials and sustainable solutions for the contemporary office.

Maximum design freedom with minimal use of materials: following the groundbreaking launch of its DUO technology at the Berlinale earlier this year – which has since proven to be a roaring success – it is now time for OBJECT CARPET to take another exciting step. And it is once again set to cause a stir: with the popular FORUM FOR GREAT IDEAS collection, OBJECT CARPET is unveiling its boldest and most vibrant carpet collection yet – now offered as a completely circular DUO carpet for the very first time – available in 18 different designs on three fabric types or featuring fully customized designs. FORUM is not just a feast for the senses, it also makes a powerful statement about sustainable design and is setting new standards in this regard.

Yacht life, punctuated by the wind and waves of the big blue sea, is the ultimate expression of freedom and an exclusive experience of luxury and nature. But the tides are shifting, and a more mindful use of natural resources is becoming as crucial as the ever exacting design specifications. That interplay between the living world and design has deep roots in Matteo Thun’s and Antonio Rodriguez’s creative philosophy. With the MEDITERRANEO indoor and outdoor collection, the team of designers collaborated with premium manufacturer OBJECT CARPET to develop a carpet innovation that is recyclable multiple times over, made of repurposed raw materials, and a sensation for the senses—an elegant showcase of how design can achieve harmony between textile flooring and the environment. MEDITERRANEO features in the living and cabins’area of the new Seadeck Series by yacht manufacturer Azimut, acting as a bridge in a space full of movement.

Following the successful debut of OBJECT CARPET’s first DUO carpet as the red carpet at the Berlinale in February, the journey of this circular sensation continues. By 2026, the entire range of over 1,000 products will be gradually converted to the recyclable DUO technology. This means full design flexibility using only two basic materials: polyamide and polyester. A revolution in the carpet industry and a clear statement at a time in which the construction sector is increasingly calling for environmentally friendly solutions.

For OBJECT CARPET, the “green mission” and a consistent commitment to the environment have always been part of the company’s DNA. This is why the premium carpet manufacturer from Denkendorf has been focusing on the development of sustainable solutions for ecological building for many years and has become an expert in environmentally friendly floor coverings with recyclable and resource-saving products. OBJECT CARPET also carried out real pioneering work together with partner Niaga in developing the first circular mono carpet NEOO. Now the company is investing further in the underlying technology of fiber bonding and lamination. Because this pioneering process will enable OBJECT CARPET to expand its range of recyclable carpets on the international market and to support industry partners in the transition to circular solutions. To this end, OBJECT CARPET will take over all patents for coating technology and processes for carpets and become Niaga’s main distribution partner for its carpet PES hotmelt adhesive in this application.

Before the eyes of the world turn once again to the capital city between February 15 and 25, 2024, invited journalists had the opportunity to get an exclusive look behind the scenes and witness live how the most sustainable red carpet Made in Germany took its deserved place in the spotlight.

From February 15 25, Berlin will once again be the center of attention. Hollywood stars, film fans and cinephiles from all over the world pose on the red carpet! The secret star this year, however, is a groundbreaking innovation: With DUO, OBJECT CARPET in troduces the first fully recyclable carpet. It is made of only two materials and is completely recyclable over and over again.
